Bowen - the Basics

6/21/2014

What is Bowen therapy?

I'm based on Sydney's Northern Beaches, but despite our healthy beach lifestyle many of us still experience pain or discomfort in our daily lives. Whether it's a sporting injury, pain from sedentary workplaces, neck pain from breastfeeding or more chronic pain associated with a long term condition you'll be amazed at the results you get from Bowen Therapy.

What's special about Vees Bowen Therapy is that I'm mobile and come to you! This makes booking in for Bowen as simple as a quick phone call or book online. I travel across the Northern Beaches from Dee WHy to Palm Beach.

Getting the balance back in your life is easy, choose Bowen and book in with Vanessa.

Bowen the Basics - What's is All About?

With so many natural therapies available alongside traditional therapies it can be hard deciding what to do and where to go. Basically Bowen should be your first choice. Why?

Bowen helps people with unexplained pain or symtoms, such as numb or tingling hands and feet, burning pain, unusual ailments such as restless leg syndrome. Often many issues are stated as "arthritis." Bowen helps relieve this too. Bowen also helps people with neurological or muscular disorders such as MS and Parkinsons.

1) Bowen therapy is gentle, safe, non-invasive hands on healing

Fascia is the connective tissue that forms a three dimensional web surrounding every tissue in the body. Fascia embraces all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles.

Bowen therapy uses a series of ''Bowen moves'' across the muscles which stretches the connective tissue and stimulates  the body itself to correct dysfunctions and restore balance holistically.

2) Bowen works holistically and harmoniously with the body.

Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing that has achieved remarkable results over the past 60 years.   Bowen technique brings about a deep state of relaxation, which has a powerful healing effect.
Bowen therapy uses a series of ' Bowen Moves" which is a cross fibre move across muscles, tendons and ligaments. Bowen stimulates the body to correct itself and get to the core of the problem.

3) Bowen stimulates the body's natural healing response.

Bowen stimulates the body to heal itself. Although ongoing sessions are great to keep your body in balance people love Bowen because they see results fast usually after one session. Bowen is used worldwide and is now practised in hospitals as the preferred therapy.

4) Bowen rehydrates the body.

An essential part of Bowen technique is the 2 minute pause between Bowen Moves.  This allows the muscles, tendons, ligaments and nervous system to respond. Each move has a powerful effect on the bodies healing process.  Fluid movements of the lymph and blood are increased which enhances tissue repair.

Remember to keep hydrated and drink plenty of water!
